Responsibilities and Tasks

% ~* p; a% Y: s5 j6 ?7 c
2 `3 ]2 B3 ^: m1 W  E( E% Y  J-        Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment  
- v8 _/ B; q1 G-        Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form to determine layout requirements
2 F  M) ?$ V8 l0 h3 d-        Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines
-        Select type and size of pipe required
4 M, i. Z; ^* n  q" T2 Q! n  m# W-        Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools
-        Weld, braze, cement, solder and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system
-        Install supports, valves, piping and control systems
-        Test system for leaks using testing equipment
' m- n8 V8 L% S% D-        Clean and maintain pipe units and fittings and flush system
( U" G" q4 G7 g! P4 }* X-        Remove and replace worn components and reactivate system
-        Actively participate in the Iyinisiw safety program
-        Other tasks related to pipefitting as may be required during the course of business

Required Qualifications

-        Completion of secondary school
$ ?! q! G/ m# o-        Completion of formal Apprenticeship Program of four- to five-years or a combination of over five years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college or industry courses in pipefitting system installation
4 ^# U' m( d$ N6 R5 \4 ?2 P! |4 ~$ b-        Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
-        Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
! x* {- ^  ^9 X- ?3 h: [-        Pipefitter trade certification is considered an asset
$ k/ T! w7 t1 N' g3 |+ c* y-        Safety tickets are considered an asset
3 u6 J5 M1 U2 P/ G6 a-        Valid drivers’ license is an asset
. i5 a0 `6 |+ C-        Interprovincial Red Seal is an asset
-        Valid driver’s license is an asset
Required Qualifications
9 E+ Z, r8 g: ]5 L-        Completion of secondary school
) m; \6 z, b  W# x4 V1 e-        Completion of a four year apprenticeship program
-        A minimum of 5 years’ work experience as an industrial Electrician
-        Trade certification in Saskatchewan or Interprovincial Red Seal
  b8 p8 ^  E4 ~-        Basic English communication skills
$ t9 M& B$ Y3 k. @-        Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
-        Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
